I was getting too impatient for the Weight Watchers program and I kept cheating on it as well. So I have switched to the Optifast 70 Positive Choice Program through Kaiser Permanente. You don't have to be a Kaiser Patient to join.
This is my third week on the program. The loss part is 20 weeks or until you reach your goal. The rest is a Maintenance program which includes gradually weaning you off the Optifast shakes and back to regular food.
Like Spark people, they say that exercise at least three times a week is essential. I have been able to do that through water aerobics and when I get back down to 180 or less I will begin walking to LA Fitness and back.
During the Maintenance program they suggest recording what you eat just like Spark People. In fact, in the book that goes along with the program, they suggest tracking through Spark People!
I am really excited about this. The weekly group meetings are great and I am really learning to address the root causes of over eating and I have even learned techniques to overcome my evening cravings.
