If you buy organic you will have pesticide free green onions for sometime! Wow what a money saving idea!!!

    @DJ4HEALTH, I've read about the ginger since last year but haven't gotten around to do it. I have to get going now. Maybe getting another planter and do it finally.

    If you get ginger from the store and it always seems to go bad, you can also put it in soil and it will grow and then you don't have to buy it and you will always have fresh ginger all the time. Make sure that you put it in good soil and not top soil. Top soil has not nutrients to feed the ginger. Been growing mine since about 6 years or longer now. Same one that I had bought and planted. It will die off but there is always a piece that will keep it going. Just make sure that you have a big pot for it or it might outgrow it.

    Yeah, I've been doing that for a few weeks now. Just buy green onions from the store and stick in a jar with about 2" of water and put it by the windowsill. They will continue to regrow while the old stems die off. I wouldn't worry about the organic so much as the old stems die off anyway.
