Ha! I made it back today - that's my longest streak, I believe. Wonder if there are extra sparkpoints for that...
Did not want to go to the gym...actually started last night making mental excuses: I'm tired, it's been a long stretch of stressful days, I deserve a break, it's dark out, got to bed too late, etc. etc. etc. BUT! I set the alarms anyway (yes, that's meant to be plural. I have three alarms. Don't judge.) for the right time and left it in God's hands. Sometimes, it's better not to look too far ahead and just live moment to moment. At 10:30 last night, I was ready to throw in the towel on something that wasn't going to happen for another 6-7 hours.
This morning, I actually woke up at 2, thinking it was already morning. Took the dog out and thought about how great it was to have another 2 hours of sleep coming. LOL I got up with the third alarm...I was lying in bed thru the first alarm, trying to remember my excuses from the night before. Taking stock, I realized that I wasn't truck-wreck tired, it wasn't really all that cold. I was awake and my clothes were already next to the bed waiting for me. I went through my top 10 motivational reasons to get to the workout, and by number 5 I was out of bed. I'm so glad I hung in there - it's a lesson for the future days when I think I don't want to workout... You never regret the workout you do.
Still hanging in with the clean eating. One small cheat - 5 s'mores candy corn. It was late and one of the kids had a ton of homework that required my help. I was getting nauseated from all the vegetables I'd eaten all day. I figured it wasn't going to trigger any more eating since I was off to bed, and carbs sometimes settles my stomach (again, don't judge.) Got home from the gym this morning and had a hard boiled egg. After kids were out the door, I made a recipe for protein pancakes that involved eggs, cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of oats (carbs, but clean). Dear goodness, they were HORRIBLE! LOL I put some sugar free syrup on a few and managed to eat them, but I am not making THAT recipe again! I think there HAVE to be better recipes out there.
Well, off to manage the rest of the day! Busy for sure, but at least I know I've started as well as I can!
