What do marathoning and knitting have in common?

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Not much usually, but David Babcock knitted a 12 foot scarf in the Kansas City Marathon, which he ran in 5 hrs and change.

Here's what he said:

‘It took a long time to do distance running. It takes a long time to do knitting,’ he told KCTV.
‘I thought these could go together. They are both kind of tedious. I thought it would be a fun challenge.’

You can't make this stuff up, lol. Here's the link to the article:

That guy's such a show off! There's a guy who runs a local Jingle Bell Run 5k around here who juggles the whole time. Not a marathon, but still, juggling for 3 miles while running is, well, again, showing off! I have no talents where I can do two things at once except maybe eat while I go on the computer. Does that count? ;)

I love both things, but prefer to keep them separate!

Wow, ever try rubbing your stomach with one hand and your head with the other? Sounds like the same thing. Not to mention I can't do either anyhow!
Thanks for sharing!

I saw that on facebook this morning! Amazing. I'd trip over my feet I think if I tried to do anything while running except trying to keep from tripping LOL!

Wow, as someone who can't walk and chew gum at the same time (lol) I am impressed! (Although I kept thinking "What if he trips and falls on those knitting needles???")
