Day 4 of ultra-low carb

Today was another day off for me, still some chores to do at home, but not too many, mostly weather-proofing the barn before the cold hits tonight.

8 am Breakfast: 3/4 cup yogurt with 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 oz. almonds/brazil nuts

noon: 1st snack: 1 oz. cheese

2pm 2nd snack: 1oz. cheese, 1/2 cup decaf with heavy cream

4 pm 3rd snack: 1/2 Granny Smith apple, 1 cup decaf with heavy cream

5:30pm lunch: 3 egg omelett with a cup collard greens and 1oz. cheese

8:30pm dinner: 1 baked chicken thigh, 1 serving kale, squash, 1 cup decaf with 1/4 cup cream

Exercise: walking the dogs for 1/2 hour, fixing fences for 1/2 hour
My carbs were a little higher, but I'm still in ketosis tonight

    Like JSTETSER asked, how do you know you are in ketosis? Is there a test for that?

    I recall that you earlier said "I will not make any attempts to limit my calorie intake" however I am having difficulty understanding how you can possibly stop at 1oz of cheese for a snack, particularly after such a spartan breakfast.

    I don't eat many calories a day either (1500c) and I'm used to small meals so I can understand if "I'm used to it" is your response. Nonetheless, if I availed myself of cheese with no caloric limits, I'd think I'd happily consume 8oz, no problem! :-P

    Good for you, ketosis is a place to burn fat and it will bring you to a keen mental place as well.

    Love reading what others do! Especially you, you are unique! I absolutely love that you are showing here; ketosis can be obtained outside of the norm of dropping fruits. It is about the final number no matter how you get there. Your combination is interesting, do you think ahead of how you will combine foods?

    SKIRNIR - I love Granny Smith apples, and I am not sure if it is more acidic or whatever, but I find that if I put the other half in a ziploc bag, and put it back in the fridge, it tends to stay overnight, without browning, like the red apples do.

    what do you do with the other half an apple, if you eat half an apple? I would love to be able to have a quarter apple in my salad, but unless I make my son eat the rest, which he often doesn't mind, I can't have just a 1/4 or 1/2 apple.

    How do you know that you are in ketosis? I don't understand what that is.
