Less Insulating Fat makes you colder

Monday, October 28, 2013

Last night I was freezing, trembling, my core temperature dropped, I was an Ice cube. The home heating system was on and yes it is cool but not cold in our home at night. I was using my c-pap and breathing in cool humidified air and under a sheet and our heavy winter quilt. It didn't matter. I literally had trouble alerting my husband, who gathered me against him but could not warm me up. I even turned on a heating pad. He sent me in the usually toasty bathroom to get in a warm tub and the little heater in there was not on so back into bed I went. He got my house coat that I refused because it was cold and instead laid it over the blanket with an extra blanket and climbed back in to warm me. Finally the trembling subsided.

It was a rough night and oh I hurt this morning after being so tense with cold. I wonder if this had something to do with hurting the other morning. So Yes I have an extra quilt on the bed and have let Luke know I will have the electric blanket which he does not like on the bed if it happens one more time. I don't want to go through that again.

On a happy note I saw my Chiropractor this morning and got rid of the headache. I should of went sooner. He adjusted my back and neck T 11-12 compression fracture and C2 fracture are old injuries that will always give me some problems. I have had headache relief today within about 5 minutes of the adjustment. It was just gone! Praise Jesus and while I am tired from last night I have had a good day, got my 10,000 steps in, and not required continued Tylenol.

It is apparently normal after GBS, and our thermostats will adjust about a year...

I have heard of that but living down in Florida we don't get many days that are that cold. Not saying that it does not get cold but it does go down in the 20-30 some days but warms up when the sun comes out.

Glad you had a good day and that the after effects of last night didn't spoil the day too.
