Jazzed Up

Monday, October 28, 2013

Quick update!

I was DOWN this weekend. I mean like stuck on the couch, could barely walk, lost hours of my life kind of down. The weather was gorgeous and I had to miss a Halloween party that I was really looking forward to attending. Iíve decided to ditch one of my doctors and find a new one. This canít happen again. I also felt so bad this Saturday that I think I need to be checked out just to make sure no permanent damage was done.

I did manage to watch most of Hocus Pocus this weekend. When they pointed out that the year was 1993 I had a bit of a crisis Ė Iíve been watching this movie for 20 years?!?!?! Oh I AM OLD. But the movie is still awesome?!

Yesterday I made a lighter slow cooker version of Pasta Fagiole soup from Olive Garden. It turned out REALLY WELL. I am a fan! It took blood and tears to get it together (broke a glass shattered everywhere and my can opener ended up in five pieces right when I was putting everything together) but I TRIUMPHED. And now I have lots of yummy healthy leftovers and a new can opener!

We ran by costco yesterday to pick up two more giant bags of the FIT popcorn (I am officially obsessed) and my bf got two bags of Halloween candy and promptly opened it when we got home. Ugh. I think I am going to limit myself to one fun size candy a day until Halloween so that I donít go crazy, and I will track it too. After Halloween, it is getting donated. Iím hoping the kids clean us out though!

Anyways, I have my new meds in my system and Iím feeling on the upswing. I had a 9am presentation today that went fairly well (try explaining complex software to truckers over the phone, as well as that could goÖ) and Iím feeling jazzed up a bit. Had some ďspeed bumpsĒ last week but that doesnít mean the car has to stop. I have my meals planned this week and I just need to hold myself to some exercise every day. Iím also rocking cute new pants, maybe that is helping too. Letís goooooooo!

Haha! 20 years old, and damn straight I'll still be watching it-again! lol its that awesome, I'm not ashamed.

Coming from someone who's been through her share of doctors, it is indeed a huge pain to switch but you owe it to yourself to find the best care you can and someone who will give you the time of day, or someone you'll simply "mesh" with better. Its worth it! Hope this upswing lasts for you!

My kids love that movie and watch it like 20 times a year. I think we may even own it.

Sorry to hear you had such a crappy Saturday, glad to see things are going better.

If thats the FB recipe, I'm looking forward to making it.

P.S. I'm not going anywhere, was just feeling off that day.

Hocus Pocus is THE BEST!!! & don't get bummed about the date hahaha

We live in a building so luckily we don't have to shell out, however I have guiltily picked up a couple bags of candy since it got released but happy that its almost over so I dont get tempted again haha.

Keep positive girlie. I know its hard sometimes but things always do get better.

First of all, you look ROCKIN for being "old".
Second of all, FIT popcorn?!?!? I love popcorn! How have we not discussed this in one of our many lengthly chats?!
Third of all, I am so sorry you had such a rotten weekend. Sending hugs your way. I am proud of you for being proactive and ditching the doctor that clearly wasn't helping and getting someone new with a fresh perspective. I hope that your new meds help!

I'm so glad to hear that you are on the upswing!

a) YUM! Your soup recipe sounds awesome.
b) I now have to google FIT popcorn
c) I think it's well within rational and safe behavior to allow yourself a tracked funsize candy until Halloween.
d) Don't even get me started on feeling OLD. I still feel in my mid-twenties until I see someone else I know as way old...then I am reminded of my own age, haha.
e) Hooray for cute pants!

Have a great week!

Glad that your meds are making an improvement. It is pretty wild to see that some of the movies and music we liked as youngster is 20 years +!haha
