Final Fall Harvest

Monday, October 28, 2013

Yesterday I harvested the last of the parsley, kale, swiss chard, chives and lettuce. I never dreamed that the garden would last until almost the end of October. It was a great year for our little vegetable garden. Every day since late May, I would go out in the garden and pick the veggies for our meals. I had to buy a few cukes and tomatoes.
Thank YOU God for a great harvest!

There is now ice on the pond near our home.

Seems like everybody was a little late this year. We are still getting some cherry tomatoes, lettuce, raddishes, jalapenos, eggplant and kale even a little corn from our community supported farm. It's sucha great way to eat the seasons.

Love seeing the nature like that thru the garden and now ice on the pond. Despite all the madness in the world, it's something soothing to see the seasons change. Congrats on your garden and I hope you have a bountiful one next year ;-).

It is SO rewarding to harvest one's own foods! I used to LOVE to garden when I was younger...I plan to get back into it in a smaller way next year. Bless you, Joanie
