Did you know that on your Start page, there's a section under Step #2 about your goals.

Have you personalized your goals? Once you do, you get a slideshow of the things you checked in your goal section. You get 5 Spark Points every day for looking at that section.

Things you can post in your goals:

Long-Term Goals.
Here you post things that will take a while to do. Perhaps you have 50 pounds to lose, that won't take just a couple of weeks to do. I also posted being toned by next summer and being able to live independently when I get old. Those are things I need to start working on now and keep on working on for life.

Short-Term Action Steps.
How are you going to get to your goals? These are the things you need to do to get to your goals. For example to be toned I have to start doing my strength training at least 3 times a week. I also put in that section to walk every weekday, I've been slacking a bit on that, so it's nice to see that in writing.

Completed Goals.
Even if you just started you can put something here. Mine say that I've already lost 50 pounds, I've changed my late night eating habits and that I usually pick the healthy food choice. If you've just started this week, you could even put that you've checked into Spark every day this week.

Goal Motivators.
Why are you doing this? What keeps you going? Maybe you're in constant pain because of your weight or have a controllable health issue and want to see that in writing. I put that I don't want pain to rule my life (darn knee) and that I want to be an influence to those near me. Maybe you have kids and want to model healthy choices and moderation for them. Choose somethings that will keep you going when the newness wears off.

Motivational Images.
Spark People provides a lot of images for you to choose from that may or may not suit you. You have the choice to pick those pictures that suit your journey or upload images from your computer that remind you why you're doing this. I picked some that go with what I'm doing, the ones I picked say "Be Strong", "Finish What You Started", "Get Fit", and "Get Organized". I'm really good at starting things, but few things are seen through. If you upload images, try to find ones that are in landscape (horizontal) mode for them to fit better into the slideshow.

It's good to change up your goal board occasionally. Perhaps you finished a goal so you need to put in new goals to reach for. Maybe your motivation is waning, post new pictures or new shorter goals in your long-term goal section. Change up your pictures occasionally for new reminders of why you're doing what you're doing. No matter what, your goal board should reflect you and what you want to do. That's what's great about it, there is so much you can do to personalize it. This is one more way we can all use the same tools to do many different journeys.

    This is probably my favorite new feature! They should do points every few hours instead of just once a day, because we would all probably benefit from checking in on those at least twice a day, if not more.

    Yes, I did this when I noticed it. Nice to see a reminder of something I did right, like steps taken, or minigoals achieved... My long term goal was just two months away, which seems long term for me. I am already 1/4 of the way there and hope I have to update that goal sooner.

    On Step #1 More Tracking - Add Goal, I tried to add another goal but sadly it wouldn't let me. I kept getting an error message, something to the effect that I had to name it(?). emoticon So much for trying to personalize it. I tried it several times before finally giving up. emoticon

    Yes, I have personalized my my goal and see the slide show many times a day. emoticon changing those goals are important to have it reflect where you are down the road a bit.
