...I might as well write something. At least today is a laid back Sunday, and I'll have time for an afternoon nap if I feel tired. I think I woke up WAY too early today because it was kind of exciting yesterday to go through ALL my clothes--I tried on absolutely everything!--and get rid of everything that was baggy, or just ugly. I now fit into all the "tiny" clothes that I was saving for someday. Nothing too small left to "shrink into." That feels very cool. I'm not a person who spends much money on clothes, but I have an opportunity every May to get a bunch of free clothes (college students leave behind an amazing amount of stuff at the end of the school year, and families of employees get to go through the piles and take what we want), so that is how I happened to have a bunch of things on hand that I was hoping to fit into someday. And now I do!
Besides THAT project, yesterday was a good day in other ways as well. I made my once-a-month trip to Winco to stock the pantry, so it was good to get that out of the way. Had some fun and interesting exchanges of conversation with perfect strangers on that trip. One that made me smile was the little old lady unlocking the door of a snazzy red Mustang parked next to me. I said,"So YOU'RE the one with the sporty red Mustang!" She replied, "Yes. You wouldn't believe how many people have given me a bad time about it, saying What do you need a car like that for? You're an old lady! But I say You're only as old as you feel, right?" She was adorable!
I also liked the day because I felt like I did a good job of being a supportive wife. It always feels good when that happens.
There were other things, too, but I'll only tell one more of them, which was that I harvested my crop of butternut squash (only 6, but better than nothing!), and we are going to eat the first one today.
Happy Sunday, everyone!
