I Can't Believe It's Race Day, and Some Nike Gear Reviews

Wearing my Spark Activity Tracker on my shoe all day. Ready for race day, it's my 5K today and I'm almost ready for it. I woke up very early and I'm glad for that. I'm very energized and ready for it.
Had a light breakfast of an English muffin and a vanilla Slim Fast. I hope that's enough to get me through a quick 3.1 miles this morning. I'm more nervous about figuring out what to do when I get there than I am about the actual running bit. I'm wearing my new Nike long slim fit pants, they didn't have the tight fit in my size and my new Nike Hyperwarm long sleeve shirt. Both are made with the dri-fit material which I highly recommend. Especially when you have enough to make it's own load in the laundry so I can follow the directions. Gentle cycle, cool water, no softner, and I line dry all of my workout clothes. I have a string I tie across my apartment and old fashion clothes pins. They do tend to be pricey so it's worth taking care of them. I really like having nice work out clothes, it's a great motivator that beats old frumpy sweats. I recommend buying a few pieces to start out, it can make you feel great. Dri-fit works by pulling your sweat through the clothes to the outside, so the inside against your skin stays dry. After my workout the outside of all my clothes are damp, but I'm cool and dry, great wicking material. Fabric softener will damage this ability so don't use it. Staying dry help with reducing or eliminating chafing from your clothes and reduces some of the smelliness too since you're not simmering in your sweat. Go with Nike Dri-Fit, I really recommend the fabric this season, the colors are fabulous too this year.
Nike sneakers are back in my favor again this year. Their toe region is much more comfortable as is the heel in this years styles. I had been wearing Ascics Gel Strike but the toe is more pointy than I like and although comfortable for running, I don't like the overall look of the sneaker. It is a fantastic running shoe and even sturdy enough to survive Gathan's Body Conditioning classes. Nike has achieved comfort and look in their Dual Fusion sneaker. Wearing a size 11, I'm a bit self conscious of a pointy toe and Nike has rounded out the front to make my foot look nice again. I asked Moses at Sport's Authority specifically for a sneaker I can walk miles every day in and still look nice for work under Express Editor slacks paired with a crisp polo, my go to work outfit. He nailed it with the Nike Dual Fusion. I plan to update my cross training sneaker next with a new Nike style. I also like wearing a black sneaker, it helps make my feet looks smaller as well.
Later tonight I plan to review the Spark Activity Tracker. I have to finish getting everything ready for the race and head on over to SUNY Purchase to sign in. Here I go!
