When students meet Victoria they say she is young for her age ... they cannot believe she is 65 years old with five children and 14 grandchildren. What can she say ... she has good skin, good hair and big hips from her paternal grandmother.
She says she is fat ... plump... all the words, and they say she is not. What they don't really get is that she has always been afraid of getting old and fat, and now she is.
"my get up and go, got up and went" -- favourite saying from her dad. Also, "the iron in my blood has turned to lead in my pants." She feels heavy and unmotivated. Numb!
It seems impossible that she would feel this way. She is living on a paradise island in China, doing work that she enjoys and with a very kind and caring husband.
"He who crappest is church must sit in his own pew" -- accountability. Her new saying, although she doesn't believe it yet, is "If it's going to be, it's up to me!"
Oh, and she wishes she was not still dealing with the same issues she dealt with when she was 16.
