Up with the lark

What a day!

I'm an early bird, but I don't really like it when the alarm goes after only 4 hours sleep, and that's what happened this morning. Arise - and shine! Well, I tried but it was hard work. We had a long journey, and the motorway was AWFUL! Not only was the traffic really heavy for a Saturday but it was raining! Thankfully we arrived in one piece, and the sun rose above the horizon shining its light and dispelling the rain. Much more cheerful.

We sold our bits and pieces and much money was raised for a very good cause. The hi-light of the day was a raffle - but none of the prize-winners were there, so it was a big anti-climax. Before we left I took a walk, and guess what I found

A field of pumpkins. Now that was NOT what I expected!

Finally it was time to pack everything away and load the car again. The journey home was a little easier - at least it was dry.

I'm shattered! I'm not sure why, and we are out again tomorrow. Thankfully we get an extra hour's sleep as the clocks go back tonight here in the UK. A whole extra hour! I think I need it. Tomorrow could be interesting. We have to drive across Salisbury Plain and the forecast is STORMY!

If you don't hear from me you will know I've been swept away.

Onwards and Upwards my dear friends. I know some of you have snow forecast. Take care and stay safe, whatever your weather.

I've always wanted to see Salisbury - isn't that where Stonehenge is? Forgive my geography - I can get from here to work and back safely. Anywhere else, all bets are off.

Is it time to set our clocks back again? Always takes me three days to get acclimated. Feels like we just set them forward. Now, my clock in the car will be an hour and ten minutes slow. Or fast.

You drive safely!!

I used the word shattered on my blog and few knew what I was talking about. It was common as dirt in Tees side. HUGS Pat in Maine. USA. emoticon
We made our Halloween lanterns out of turnips, did you?

Didn't know anyone grew pumpkins in the UK. What a surprise! Glad you found it. Rest up and don't work too hard. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep!

My friends did their first garden - organic of course! - since they moved into their new home. Their first pumpkin is HUGE! I'd guess it is about 80 lbs of orange. They are using it for part of their decorations this year.

We have to wait in the US until a week from tomorrow to get that coveted extra hour. Enjoy!

I love that you found a pumpkin patch. Do you think the Great Pumpkin was lurking in there somewhere? I went to LuAnn's page to let her know that you are on the other side of the pond and our clocks stay the same for another week...but you had already done that. Love the new threads. Bless you for doing that. Bless you just for being you.

I'd like to get swept away...but not off England. Would have to be some place much warmer than that to be stranded!! I think Gilligan's Island....did you get that one if the UK?? But I don't want YOU to get swept away.

I've just entered a contest to spend New Year's Eve in London. If I win, I'll bring Stacy and you and Miranda can meet us and we'll party like rock stars on someone else's dime. I forget which hotel. If I win I'll surely be hit by lightning!

Never seen pumpkins growing over here. I hope they are wrong about the storm. Have a good weekend. Looking forward to lie in tomorrow.
