Still Chugging Along

Do you ever "hit a new low", only to get back on the scale secretly terrified that you've regained 6 pounds and the new low is elusively gone again?

I KNOW it's just a number, BUT! Anyway, I got on the scale this morning and all is good! WHEW. emoticon emoticon

I'm doing well resisting all the Halloween sweets that have appeared EVERYWHERE. It's overwhelming, isn't it? But I tell myself that there will be plenty of other opportunities to eat these things later, I'm just CHOOSING NOT TO INDULGE NOW. It's self-talk that works for me! I'm not feeling deprived, I'm in control, making MY decision to stay firmly on my path.

Actually, I'm proud of myself for resisting all the marketing hype.

Today the revolving Saturday class at the fitness center is Cardio Pump with one of my favorite (although not easy) instructors, so I'll be doing that plus 45 minutes on the elliptical. Then I'll be starting on a long list of Saturday chores and errands.

Hope you all have a great day today, and don't let the displays of iced cookies (180 calories EACH) in the front of the store entice you! You are stronger than your cravings. As Dr. Beck says, "Exercise your resistance muscle, not your giving-in muscle!"
