Chptr 12, Day 63

Saturday, October 26, 2013

Enjoyed an excellent used book store sale with the family. After some area famous barbecue, we went to an Appalachia museum and gift shop for arts and crafts in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Saw beautiful things by the local artisans: pottery, woven items, glassware, handmade baskets, quilts, wooden furniture, wood carved bowls and statues of birds, etc. Amazing talent. I could have easily spent $10K without a blink.

Great 5 mile walk around a lake with mountains in the background that included walking through a bird sanctuary. Some of the terrain was irregular, slightly hilly. It was DH's longest walk to date and he hardly broke a sweat and he didn't have knee or sciatica pain. We were both really pleased.

Having a great time. Exercise is going really well. Food consumption....not so much.

I want to get some area photos with my cell phone today, our last day in this area.

Wishing you a healthy and fit day, spark friend!
