Greeks are evil!

Friday, October 25, 2013

They make some mighty fine food! I planned to cook, but we were so far behind on cleaning and had so much to do before tomorrow that I said forget it, and decided to get food. We had Greek, which wasn't the worst I could have done {I wanted a sack full of greasy Taco Bell!}, but it wasn't good. Well, it was GOOD, but it wasn't healthy. I enjoyed every bite of it, though. And that's virtually all I've had to eat today. Busy busy!

I didn't get any formal exercise but I've been running around the house cleaning all evening, so that was a bit of movement. It's really astonishing how much cleaning needs to be done when you don't think much cleaning needs to be done. I'm done with my share, though. The rest is on dh.

Tomorrow is not going to be a healthy day, I'm prepared for that. We're taking my FIL out for Chinese, and literally and truly, other than some fruit on the dessert bar, there is NO healthy food on this buffet. Nothing is steamed, it's all fried and greasy. Delicious, but fried and greasy. My plan is to have a big glass of water before we leave home, to take the edge off, and to stick to only one plate of food, and a second plate with some fruit and stuff. Sometimes I put away 2 plates of food and a full plate of dessert, so my goal is to have half that. It still won't be GOOD, but it will be much better than I could do.

I'm already ready for Sunday, though. Sunday is back on track in every way. Walking with The Buddy Sunday morning, which I am really looking forward to. Then there will be cooking at home and eating healthy. And Monday I'm joining the gym. I won't say I'm EXCITED, but I know how great I'm going to feel after a good workout, so I'm ready!

And now I'm going to relax on the couch and read The Spark Solution for a while. All that cleaning pooped me out! Hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!

ETA: I was wrong. I had a small Carmel Frappe and I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but it's almost 500 calories, so... so much for the Greek being almost all I ate!

I like Sunday as my batch cooking day.. stews, casseroles, soups to freeze. The rest of the week is a breeze with just my microwave and we have our meals!

Cleaning really generally involves a lot of muscle groups and can burn a lot of calories, not that i enjoy doing it myself. My house is generally a train wreck and since i live out in teh country i make great use of the 30 minutes it takes my friends to drive out to see me by scrambling to clean all visible areas.

Some friends an i are planning a vacation to greece in March, i know the food will be good (and high in calories) but im planning to do a fair amount of walking on the tours, so here~s hoping i can balance it out well.

Chinese buffett every now and then is a necessary evil in my opinion. Just make sure you get on track again after the fact.

Good luck!!

Do you know you can put house cleaning as a cardio exercise? You just need to keep track of the minutes. I hope your tummy is ready for this food!

You are really busy! Have fun with your FIL. Doesn't sound like there will be many good choices to make. What gym are you joining? I miss the one in Iowa. There's a couple here but real close to the beach so---, the beach always wins. Hope you have a really great weekend!
