Turning into Monk
Friday, October 25, 2013
Notice that I said Monk as in Adrian Monk, the detective, not a monk. We're headed into that cold/flu season that is dreaded by those of us with weak immune systems everywhere. I am just getting over a killer cold. The rest of my family got this cold and spent a couple of days with sniffles curled up with blankets on the couch. I got the cold and have been in true misery. I had to move my endoscopy appointment to next week because of it. I am afraid that I'm going to get something else before the appointment and will have to move it again.
So. . . I am now armed with disinfectant wipes and am wiping down all surfaces. My keyboard has never been so clean. And neither have the light switches. I'm washing my hands before I eat and after the bathroom as I always do, but also every time I come back home and after touching anything that hadn't been disinfected yet. I am using the wipes that they have by the grocery store door to disinfect the cart handles before I touch them. Today I'm going to bleach the toothbrushes in a bleach solution. I briefly thought about getting a mask to wear over my nose and mouth but I am well known in my small city. I would have tons of people coming up to me to ask me what was wrong. "No, get away! Don't come near me!" That might be misinterpreted. . .
My son just came over to say "Good morning". He sneezed. I don't think he was prepared to be shoved backward while I yelled "Get away from me!" Does anyone have a wipe?
