I ran/walked 5k at work yesterday as part of our workplace charitable campaign. I knew the route was very hilly and twisty. I decided to try a running calculator and set it to tell me sessions of 5 minutes and 1 minute, alternating. I ran 5, walked 1 for the whole route. No matter if there was a hill or at where I was, I did what the timer said. I took the hills slowly but I kept going.
Turns out I did it in 33:58! I thought that was awesome
Now I'm going to take 2 rest days and go out for a practice run with a group at a running store on Sunday.
Lots of people decided to brave the 4 degrees Celcius and wind for the run/walk.
I felt great!
