Definition of tweak:

present participle: tweaking

1. twist or pull (something) sharply.
"he tweaked the boy's ear"

2. improve (a mechanism or system) by making fine adjustments to it.
"engineers tweak the car's operating systems during the race"
synonyms: adjust, modify, alter, change, adapt

I am talking about definition # 2. I tweaked my mindset on my diet. It has been a week, well actually a week and one day that I gave myself permission not to be perfect. I had been feeling like a failure because I wasn't able to get back to following a 100% Raw Diet. Not being able to follow an eating plan of 100% Raw each day meant I failed and thus not perfect.

I decided that I didn't need to be perfect, what I needed was to be healthy. I decided that I would follow a High Raw Diet, meaning eating Raw fruits and veggies as much as possible and when certain cravings took over that as long as I was eating "'Clean", whole foods, and Vegetarian,

The pressure was off, I have been in great mood all week but I felt like a success instead of failure and surprise, surprise I ate almost 100% Raw for the past 8 days. I had one meal of butternut squash and brown rice and one meal of quinoa and sautéed fresh broccoli with garlic. Sounds like a win, win for me! No binges because I ate a "cooked" grain or veggie.

I was able to tweak (adjust, modify, alter, change, adapt) my mindset and no longer feel like I had blown it; so I might as well eat whatever else I really wanted like perhaps ice cream, cookies, donuts, etc. I had not failed because I was eating healthy. I have tweaked my mindset that until I get back to 100% when my state of mind (dealing with all of the red tape I am trying to work through trying to rebuild my house after Hurricane Sandy and my budget allows me to, then that is OK with me.

    Great blog! I have recently tweaked my all or nothing mind set and I am seeing better success than I have seen in a long time. Balance is key!

    I don't think my mindset needs tweaking -- it needs a complete overhaul!!!

The only thing I seem to be doing right is my exercise streak and I think that I'm using that to sabotage my eating.

You know, "I'm exercising more, I must need to eat more..."

I've also been having sleep problems. Part of that is not heading to bed early enough, part of it is not being able to get to sleep when I do get there.

Enough about me, Congratulations on having a tweaking breakthrough!!

    Great job!!!! None of us are perfect. I got tired of trying to be something I'm not. It's much more relaxing this way.
I'm following a vegetarian, clean eating lifestyle. My rule is 80/20. As long as I stick to it 80% of the time I'm emoticon

I'm glad you tweaked your mindset. Life is stressful enough without us adding to it

    Great blog Yvonne! You are doing so good and are inspiring me again. Gosh I hope all with your house moves along swiftly and you are back home and living a beautiful wonderful life you so deserve!

I have tweaked. I have really tweaked, and will continue. I am and as well feel I am doing the best I can for me; with positive food changes. Adding more fresh and alive foods back into my diet and I am feeling the rewards so much.
Loads of greens, veggies, some fruits, healthy fats, seeds, gosh so much. I am gradually restocking all my favorites again as we can afford and loving every minute of it.
I am a work in progress, trying to find what my body needs for health and the level where I can be my healthiest!

    Great blog Yvonne and something to really think about. I've tweaked my eating habits for the better and my body is showing results. Knowing the right foods to eat combined with exercise is a win win scenario.
