I long ago got rid of my 2X clothes, and my 1Xs, 18s, 16s, 14s, 12s, 10s, 8s, and even some of the bigger 6s. I found myself no longer wearing big scarfs, earrings, and pins, but using smaller accessories, so I got rid of the big ones, too. I replaced my underwear, pajamas, and bathing suits. But there was one thing I put off -- my wedding ring. When I ran it flopped on my finger, obviously too big. I was reluctant to get it resized. I didn't think it was possible to have it a comfortable size and still get it on and off over my knuckle.

Today I went with my hubby back to the jewelry store where we chose the ring in 1979. They suggested a ring guard. It only cost a couple dollars and now my ring doesn't flop on my finger even when I run.

That is it. I don't think I have even one more item that is too big. I'm not one to give away useful items, but I am so glad I exercised that act of faith and got rid of everything related to my obesity. I'll never need them again.

Ring guard!!! (I've been resisting re-sizing my wedding ring, too). Thanks for that and congratulations.

Doesn't it feel good to give away all your fat clothes? It did for me.

Good for you! I recently did a closet purge myself and didn't quite have the faith you did - I kept a few outfits back.

emoticon It's kind of funny having to replace my "reward" small pj's... without changing the size! Pretty cool being where we are, o, fellow maintainer! emoticon , you are, says Yoda!

I love a good, affordable solution. Yay for the ring guard.

I've been ruthless about getting rid of my clothes. All but one pair of pants (the very biggest, just to remember) have been donated to thrift stores.
