For years I have been working towards the elusive goal of being out of the obese BMI category. All that time the 158 cut off weight seemed so far out of reach but now being so close (pretty confident I can hit it by end of October seen 159 on my scale this morning!) I find myself wondering what now? Of course I still want to lose from here but that was really the only weight goal I had set for myself. Where do I eventually want to end up? I guess somewhere between 120-140. I know pretty big range right? But how am I supposed to know where I should be at? I haven't been skinny since highschool when I was at 115 and 10 years and two babies later I definitely don't have the same body I did back then so that number is no longer really a motivator to me. According to BMI a healthy range for someone my height is between 98-132lbs of course that's not taking into account muscle mass or anything else but that is basically how I picked the number on my ticker I just aimed for the high end of their healthy. So in honor of being so close to my first and only "goal weight" milestone here is my new set of goals!
~Get comfortably below 155 (and never ever go back!)
~Have a less than 40" waist
~Go down a cup size (pretty close!)
~Get to single digit pant size
~Be able to do 20 pushups on my toes
~Be able to bench press 75 then 100lbs (working up from 60)
~Be able to walk 5 miles without breathing heavy
~Be happy and confident enough to be in more pictures with my kids
But not to minimalize what I have already accomplished
~Went from 195 post 2nd baby to 159 (36lbs!!)
~Went from a size 16 pants to 10-12 (depending on brand)
~Went from XL tops to M
~Can do 20 push ups on my knees
~Can walk 3 miles without getting breathless
~Tried new things in the gym that I would have been too embarrassed to try in the past.
~Learned what healthy eating really looks like
~Learned how to read a nutrition label
~Learned that making time for myself is a MUST!
~Became a better parent
That's a pretty nice list my friends, I'm thinking this stupid proud grin on my face right now was pretty well earned. Can't wait to add more achievements to the list soon! And as far as the weight question goes I'm not setting a goal weight, when I feel good, look good and am healthy I'll know it until then I'll keep pushing on! Thanks to all my spark friends who have helped keep me motivated with your great words of wisdom and encouragement so far can't wait to continue this journey with you!
