Guess I started something

The Toy Monster is working! The kids are monitoring themselves to keep it clean. Their Daddy talked to them about cleaning out and making decisions on what they could give away so that other children who might not have as much could enjoy the toys they really don't need or play with. So last night they went through so much of their stuff and now there is a big pile of things for my DH and I to take to Goodwill. So much stuff! I was proud of the way they wanted to give so much to others. Great lesson. Oh and the toy room looks so much better.

Chilly day again in Philly. I am glad that I have lots of warm things here to wear. Nice too that my DIL and I are the same size and she loans me coats and such. So I should be okay. I am still running around spraying Lysol and using hand sanitizer as both my Step-son and DH have colds now. It's crazy how when fall comes seems everyone gets sick. Right now I have been feeling good so working hard to keep my distance.

Hope you all are healthy and doing well.
Have a terrific day.
Sallie

It's great that you have such a positive affect on your grandchildren. You are teaching them to share and to be empathetic toward others less fortunate. Have a great and chilly day!!!!

Delighted to read that the grands are being taught to sharing with those that do not have. So many are not taught this. Once they do this enough they will realise that there are people that need and deserve a help. Hubby and I have been blessed, but we live in an older less propouses neighborhood. We share with our neighbors as much as we can. It has come back to us in so many ways. We have come home and found the lawn cut and edged by these neighbors. I feel perfectly safe coming in late at night when Hubby is working because they are looking out for me. One will stay up until I get in from work and je sees that I am in my house.

That is a great 'tradition' that you started.
Wonderful that the grandies were able to
think about giving to others. A great lesson
that will serve them well in life. I hope you
don't catch a cold Sallie. HAVE A NICE DAY.

Oh boy! Yes, when it gets cool, the furnace heats the air but dries it out. Our sinuses get dried out and that makes them susceptible to colds. Besides that, when the cold weather sets in, we are indoors more, around others doing the same thing. All it takes is one ACHOO to get the ball rolling!

HUGS and stay well!

Your grandkids did great! It is hard to part with toys but the idea that someone, who doesn't have much, can use them is a good motivator!
They will enjoy playing with what they have left all the more.

Less clutter means they can play more.
