Two years ago, my entire family gathered to wish me well on a milestone birthday. I was tracking my weight at that time and when I ran a report today back to that time, I realized that I was 8 pounds heavier than I am now. I also know that I had already dropped another 40 or so pounds before that particular day, before tracking on Sparkpeople. So I am 48 pounds down, all together! What is significant is that the last two years represent a true change in my approach to nutrition and exercise, entirely related to Sparkpeople and daily tracking. And these last 8 pounds represent not so much the loss of weight, but the gain in health.
Today, Sparkpeople sent me a Happy Birthday e-mail that contained a link to a Dean Anderson article on voluntary simplicity. Thanks, Sparkpeople and Dean Anderson, for reminding me to live in the moment. I will again celebrate today with family and will definitely cherish my good fortune. Today.
