sometimes, you have to take a step back. You can only carry
someone else's load for so long and then day, it's up to you now.
DS's GF is a sweet girl but is perfectly content to let everyone
else take care of her. Today she missed an opportunity to work
because she did not tell her boss that she was coming in. So
her work was done by someone else. She was upset. No one
told her. Her boss didn't call...you get the idea. Next she was
upset because she thought it was up to me to talk to her boss.
This conversation was all through texts. I finally texted her that
it was her job, her responsibility to talk to her boss by going
to her and finding out what she needed to know. She was mad
but I also told her case worker that I would no longer get in
the middle. We both told her that she needed to step up and do it.
Her team meets next week and she thinks I must be there. Her
team said no, this isn't about you. So I will let her case manager
explain it and step back. This made for a very rough morning.
I was steaming along and suddenly realized it was after 5 and I
was still at work. So I closed down shop and the pager went off
for a fire at one of the colonies. A turkey barn was on fire. We
sent 3 fire trucks and I went with the ambulance. Halfway there
we heard that another town had sent it's fire department. We
get there and a third fire department and second ambulance
was on scene...and the fire was out. It turned out to be a very
small fire that was easily contained. We laughed about it as
there were 15 trucks there and we all could have sworn it was
a mock disaster drill. Not one turkey needed CPR LOL!
I got home quite late but DH was already peeling apples so I
set about making spaghetti for supper with my thick homemade
sauce. It was so delicious I may keep it all for myself. Let the
children make their own, except I have so much in the freezer
it would be a shame not to share.
Hope your day was free of trouble and thanks for stopping by.
