Well, the weather is definitely cooler. It was a beautiful day today. I actually had the windows open all afternoon and there was a crisp, cool breeze coming in. Good riddance summer!
This morning started with Pilates, as always. We did a Cardio Pilates class this morning. And it's a good thing we were moving a bunch because it was a bit chilly in the gymnastics center this morning. It was mainly because of the gigantic fan they have in there; it was on high this morning, creating an intense breeze. But it was also probably only in the upper 60s in there to begin with.
After class I went for my run. I ran a little slower today because I know that my lungs tend to hurt more with the cooler weather. So I didn't want to overdo it. After my run I did a blogilates video. It was pretty good. I didn't really have much trouble with it.
In the late morning, I got a phone call from a friend who was driving through town on her way back home from visiting her parents. (She lives about 2 hours north of us and her parents live about an hour south of us.) Her 4-month-old son was screaming in the car and she really wanted to stop and figure out what was wrong. I told her to come on by and not think about driving through town without stopping to see me. So we had a good visit.
This evening I taught a 2-hour dance class. This was my most advanced class (still intermediate level), but we are still working a lot on the basics. I feel like they can do a lot of the tricks and stuff, but the simplest thing is so difficult for them. I'm focusing a lot on strength with them, because there are a lot of things they can do if they just throw their bodies at it, but it doesn't look good because there's no control. I really enjoy teaching that level because it really stretches me as a teacher. I can almost go on auto-pilot teaching the lower level classes. But I have to get more creative with the more advanced classes.
I talked with my boss today about moving my evening Pilates classes an hour earlier on Tuesdays and Thursdays and she said that would be fine. So starting next week, I get to come home an hour earlier on those days. I'm very excited!
Tomorrow I have a Pilates class in the morning. I plan to do my run and Blogilates afterwards. Then in the afternoon I have 2 dance classes and another Pilates class. So it's another full day. But it's pretty much the end of the week for me. I'm getting excited about sleeping in on Friday.
I've realized that I've been in a bit of a funk lately. I've not had the best attitude. Life is what you make it. So I'm choosing to be happy. I'm choosing to wake up and not hate waking up. I'm choosing to enjoy life rather than griping about the things that may not be quite as enjoyable.
