Weds. walk & interview

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Today was Heart & Stroke walk day and it had been raining, so wondered if anyone would show, 4 of us...And we actually walked 6695 steps, went around the duck pond twice, much further than our usual walk, so that was a good thing.

I wanted to show my friend my hat collection and I had this brainwave, bring the poster in and let it stay at the library for a few days with a notice about the Knit-a-thon and/or Purple Baby Hat Program. Will have to follow up with someone tomorrow, and see what happens. They had it on display and some knitting books around it. Having read a couple of Kate Jacobs - Friday Night Knitting Club books, I suggested they put those books up too. I am seriously considering doing up a poster like thing that would offer such a group and see what kind of interest I get... could do it in the back room of the library again.....hmmmm.... this brain of mine just never stops.

So made it to my interview..... very intense and exhausting... Given a list of 14 in-depth questions, not being told the 14th ? was meant as the last half hour writing assignment, so I did it first and only got the through the first 8 questions... anyway, they took my notes and ripped them up etc, almost like it was a job with the FBI or something!!! Anyway, whole hour interview and then when the last 1/2 hr. came up, I bowed out.... enough was enough... I got the impression they weren't any more impressed with me than I was with them... It was quite strange... and nothing would be happening for at least 6 weeks anyway....bureaucratic jobs are just not my thing...

Shopped a little and came home...tired....
(forgot to mention my oldest dd called me last nite to tell me she is getting married on Valentine's Day!! so I may be going on a trip!!)

While shopping today, I bought 40 lb. bags of wood pellets, and the checkout lady asked if I needed help getting them into my car, I showed her my muscles and said I'm good, but thanks for asking... emoticon emoticon

emoticon on the muscles (and the "can do" attitude, too)! emoticon

That job doesn't sound as if it would have used your strengths - I'm sure you'll find something that better suits your creativity and good sense. Your ideas about the library sound great.

And a trip to attend a wedding sounds wonderful! Could be a great motivator, too?

Lila, you don't give yourself credit for all you do. You are Superwoman!

You are awesome! Those bags are nothing to sneeze at--I lift them frequently, too. Especially now that the cold weather is settling in.

Too bad the interview was a bust, but who needs that kind of stress anyway? Government jobs can be strange! Way to go on your walk & weight-lifting (wood pellets); you go girl!!

Go ahead with your strong self!!

Best wishes to your daughter(where does she live?)

Glad you walked, and the knitting idea sounded promising.
That job interview sounded awful...were you going to be given a cyanide pill???

Have a good ya! emoticon emoticon
