Libraries and bracelets...

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Today has been a pretty good day, I gotta say! First, I am happy to say I feel much better. I'm still in a little pain, but nothing like the past few days. A single dose of ibuprofen has taken care of most of it and I have been reasonably functional today. No hours languishing on the couch with a hot water bottle on my belly.

Gotta 'fess, though... I didn't exercise. I still wasn't feeling great and I just... eh, phooey on excuse making, I just plainly didn't do it. I could have at least done a short one, but I was lazy and didn't.

Okay, bad stuff over...

Things I did do:

1. I cooked! Dh was shocked when I asked if he would come keep me company in the kitchen, since I hadn't cooked in almost a week. I made a recipe from here, spinach, quinoa black bean casserole. It had Feta in it, and I added a little diced chicken. It was AWESOME. Both of us really liked it, so that recipe is a keeper fer sure. It was fast, easy, healthy and yummy -- win, win, win and win!

2. Go to the library, where I acquired this stack...

Notice the book on top! The whole stack is made up of various health/weight loss/fitness books. I was running out of magazines, and money to buy magazines, so I hit the library and struck the jackpot at the new one. I got 6 books, but I could easily have gotten 100. It will take me a long while to get through all the books at that library! I love to read about health and fitness, and it keeps my mind on doing good things. Not to mention all the awesome new things I learn. {That must be dug out like a needle in a hay stack from all the bs and crap out there, but what can ya do...}

And lastly...

3. Got bracelets! My mom sent me a surprise little package with 3 Halloween bracelets in it...

That's SUPER exciting for me. I love jewelry and Halloween, so it's two awesome things combined. Love my mama!

One last good thing -- laying with a hot water bottle on my chest melted anxiety like crazy last night! For no apparent reason {even with dh home!} I was feeling anxious. So I got my hot water bottle, turned on a Ram Dass recording, and laid the bottle on my chest and got under the blankets. Within 15 minutes I felt MUCH better. So for any of you guys that have anxiety problems -- give it a try!

And now I'm going to go enjoy a book. Hope everyone has had a wonderful Wednesday!

You need to get well 1st than you can sweat out a great workout! You really nailed the library and thank your Mom again for the awesome gifts!
