Goals...Part 2!

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

emoticon It was a productive day for me! Writing my goals down just for today instead of the whole month definitely helped, although I would still like to find a way to have more of a long-term vision in terms of where I want to be overall. It's interesting, because my weight loss goals also work better for me when I take a week at a time instead of trying to set long-term goal dates.

As I thought, I set too many goals for one day (especially starting after 1 pm), BUT it's all a learning experience, right? In the future I am not going to list more than 8 goals per day.

1. Walk the dog at least 15 minutes. emoticon 26 minutes @3.0 mph/ 1.32miles (167 calories burned!) Carmella is getting healthier, too, since her little Shih Tsu legs ran the whole way, and she circled around me multiple times.

2. Strength training. emoticon Goal not met, but I'm okay with that since I got a lot of cardio in.

3. Track my food. emoticon I am actually a bit under in calories and got 6 veggies in. I may eat a bit more later just to hit my calorie level to keep my metabolism up.

4. Cut down the flowers in the backyard. emoticon There are still more to cut down, but I filled 4 lawn and garden bags and worked for 110 minutes (825.66 calories burned!), so I'm counting this as a definite win, especially since it started hailing in the middle of my yard work but I didn't quit. emoticon

5 Run the gas out of the lawnmower. emoticon I got ambitious and didn't just run the gas out, but actually mowed the lawn. 30 minutes / 309.62 calories burned!

7. Wash the dishes emoticon

8. Make appt. with neurologist. emoticon I called but he was out of town. I left a message for him to call me when he returns on 11/4, so that counts! emoticon

9. Type up list of scavenger hunt items for my daughter's party. emoticon Not yet done, but I may do this later tonight depending on how I feel. If I don't get to it, I'm not going to stress about it.

10. Clean the litterbox emoticon I would love to know how one of my cats manages to pee OUTSIDE the litterbox, even when the hood is on! emoticon

11.Scoop the dog poop. emoticon

12. Get the garbage out. emoticon

13. Organize the mail on the family room table. emoticon Not done, but I'm okay with that. Since the most urgent outside work was done today, I'm going to focus on the inside work tomorrow.

Great job...very impressive. You sure burned a lot of calories. I bet you will see the results on your next weigh in! When I make lists I try not to pressure myself but rather think of them as memory guides...so I don't forget to do something I need to do. The more I have on my mind the harder it is to remember things. You were a busy lady and have the results to show it. Just remember to take some time for yourself too.

Great job! I like to make a list of 'things to do' and as they are done, cross them off! Then I see the list getting smaller and smaller!

I have the same problem with monthly goals as you - I set them then don't achieve them. I need to work on that.

Wow...you accomplished loads of stuff.... whew, I got tired just reading all the stuff you did. emoticon
I love making up a list in the morning, even if I don't finish it...which I usually don't, but I just add it the next day.
