October Goals Update

Well, looky me. Eight days left in October and I met my goals already.
- earn a 1,500 fitness minutes trophy
- get a physical to evaluate any changes (hopefully for the better) in cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. since losing weight
- turn 36
As of today I have my 1,500 minutes trophy. I may as well shoot for the 2,000 minutes trophy.
Yesterday I got my physical. My doctor said she was proud of me for losing the weight and was on board with my goal to lose about 23 more pounds. My cholesterol is a little bit up from where it was in June (I'm glad I had it checked then for a point of comparison) so I imagine we'll need to test that again in a few months. Blood pressure was very good at 120/75. I didn't notice my pulse rate; I wish I had.
And I did, in fact, turn 36. I had a very nice, easygoing birthday. Walked with my mom in the morning, then she and I went out to lunch. Then dinner out with my husband, kids and parents. I debated whether to take the day off from tracking but decided the gift I really wanted to give myself was another day of good choices. I stayed in range in spite of eating out twice and indulged in half of a Starbucks pumpkin cream cheese muffin while everyone else had cupcakes and ice cream. I enjoyed the half just as much as I would have enjoyed the whole thing and was in a better place with my calories because of it. I ate the other half the next day. To be honest it was a bit stale and I could have just as well skipped it, but it was yummy.
A good month so far. Challenging in some ways, but good.
