At the beginning of October, I wrote a blog of my October goals, printed it out the list, and posted it on my refrigerator. It is now the end of October, none of the goals are done, and every time I look at the list on the fridge, I feel like a failure.

I am deleting my October Goals blog and ripping up the list on the fridge. I attempted to do too much and just got overwhelmed. I do not need to feel like a failure! I do not need to beat myself up for not getting all those things done. What I do need to do is figure out what my goals are JUST FOR TODAY.

1. Walk the dog at least 15 minutes. emoticon

2. Strength training. emoticon

3. Track my food. emoticon

4. Cut down the flowers in the backyard. emoticon

5 Run the gas out of the lawnmower. emoticon

7. Wash the dishes (dishwasher broke) emoticon

8. Make appt. with neurologist. emoticon

9. Type up list of scavenger hunt items for my daughter's party. emoticon

10. Clean the litterbox emoticon

11.Scoop the dog poop. emoticon

12. Get the garbage out. emoticon

13. Organize the mail on the family room table. emoticon

I am a bit worried that this list is still too long...especially since it is already almost 1:30 p.m., but a lot of these things are quick. I already feel better knowing I have a plan. I think I will start making my "to do" list the night before so I know first thing in the morning what the plan is rather than wasting too much time playing computer Solitaire. emoticon

Great idea. I should do something like that. I mentally have a "to do" list, but usually don't write it unless it is for an event or party.

emoticon I'm setting most of my goals one day at a time right now because I know that is what works for me. I hope you have a productive day!

Oh my goodness, that list is just for one day? I thought it was a new list for the month.

Tell me privately about the neurologist so that I know how to pray, okay?

The fact that you made a goals list is awesome. You are continuing to do better each time. You really didn't fail! You learned a better way to make your goals attainable. I call that a win!

Glad u are not beating yourself up, because for sure you are NOT a falure!! I am willing to bet there are a couple things on that list you accomplished. If not well you have today to get as much on your list done as possible and again no feeling like a failure if you don't accomplish everything. One step at a time!

Hugs. I get frustrated too when I don't get my to-do's done. Looks like you have a lot going on today. I like the idea of doing goals for one day at a time.
