I was invited to move out of Lonerville and I did it! I have been running alone for a long time, only accountable to me and setting my own pace. Last night as I was driving home from Zumba I got a text saying "Headed to the park to run, wanna come along?" I had been debating all day about whether to suck it up and run in the cold, but this made it easier! I said yes and her reply was, "I am warning you, we are slow, slow , slow.
I met up with them and they were already running. We ran Mile 1 at 13:00, Mile 2 at 13:25, Mile 3 at 13:06 (this would have been slower, but I broke away with 1/2 mile to go and sped way up. I didn't mine the little slower pace at all. I loved the conversation and laughing! I've missed that! While there is a lot of comradery between runners, during races it's all about the finish line. I don't really even know these girls, but that didn't matter! I liked the move!
