Time to lose some weight y'all!

So I just ran my 3rd half-marathon (YAY!). The problem with half-marathon training is you run a lot and then you eat a lot to keep up all the running. And if you are trying to lose weight (as I am) it can get really frustrating.

Anywho now that that is all over it is time to get serious about losing some weight. I'm going to Mexico in January so now seems like a great time to kick it into gear. This will be my last big trip for a while (I've started the process of paying off all my student loan debts and need all my extra cash to go toward that) so I would love to be more comfortable in my skin for that and not hate all the pictures that come back with us. Nothing like a vacation to kick your motivation in the butt!

Food is where I get into the most trouble so I am starting by tracking everything starting today. Being aware of what you are shoveling in your pie hole is such an important part of the puzzle. I have been used to eating so much for training so I really have to do this to make sure I'm not going to gain anymore weight either. I am also going to focus on eating more slowly (I think I seriously shovel it in and barely register what is going in there!). Also just choosing better options then what I have been is going to be a focus as well.

So here we go again!

    Yes, cute collage! I love it. It is motivating for you to see your accomplishments (big ones!) and it is motivating for us as well. Congratulations!
Oh, and I'm with you on the weight loss goals. My has been creeping up and it's time to get it under control again. Thank you for the inspiration!

    I've done a lot of HMs - some with food logging and some without logging. I've found that it is possible to maintain or lose weight while still eating enough to fuel those long runs. But I'd never accomplish it without logging.

Ultimately, I found that training (or running of any kind) without logging is terrible for me. Not only do I overeat but I eat all sorts of crap rationalizing it on the energy I've burned off.

Lesson learned!

    I am training for my 2nd full this year and I actually have gained weight!!! Its so annoying! I have really kicked up my speed training and TRYING to eat less!! Go you! Keep at it!
