I'm counting down to the day of my first 5K: 4 days remaining.
My wife had the great idea of going down to the site of the walk to see what the route is like.
I'm excited and a little nervous about the walk. Since I've never done this before, I'm not really sure what to expect. I'm on a team, and the most I've done is read the team emails. Sad to say, I haven't raised any money for the cause yet, although one friend did say they would be willing to donate.
If all else fails, I will end up donating $36 myself, and my wife will probably donate $36 as well, so at the very least we will have a total of more than $72.
I took today off from walking because I'm trying not to overdo it right before the big day.
The morning of the walk, I know I should wear sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, dress appropriately for the weather forecast (warm and sunny), and bring water and snacks.
Any other tips/suggestions from seasoned 5K walkers out there?
