Slaves

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

I watch a documentary on slavery It was hard to watch They were handled like cattle packed into pen like rooms branded and loaded on ships So many died that were thrown over board The sharks followed them to eat the body's Not toked about by the owners night seem to them can be hidden The son of one of the slave owner helped with the research They had a rice field Many slaves died from snake bites and malaria It was hell on earth What was done was extremely evil and the aftermath resonates to this Day. Not a Christian nation in my eyes God seen all Hears all Those tortured people were Gods to. They numbered in the millions Many Died and did not make it They were used to make some rich Many hide there heads in the sand today And the sad part many did not repent and admit the evil they did Just like the Hitler youth today Can start again hate grows fast so dose abuse of others When we do not admit the past it repeats itself

So very sad at the mistreatment of people throughout the ages. Even today, many many Christians are locked up and horribly mistreated in 3rd world countries.

We must keep praying for all for so many we do not know what they endure.

I think about the slave labor of small, very young children who work in these sweat shops making our clothes The are literally chained to a sewing machine or loom . Also, there is the sex trafficking of young boys and girl for evil men. God help us all daily pray for these innocents.

Remember our Native American friends...and this is still going on!!! We still have a long way to go when we consider today including voter rights and realize we are no longer a tolerant nation! We get our Elders and we we get people of color!!!

Slavery is a terrible thing. I had heard that slavery is still prevalent today in some countries. I decided to find out current information. This is what I found:

"We tend to talk about slavery as a thing of the past, a dark passage of history that is long gone. This is far from reality. According to the Global Slavery Index 2013, released by the Walk Free Foundation on 17 October 2013, an estimated 29.8 million people across the world are victims of modern slavery today.

The index ranks 162 countries in the world. The countries with the highest prevalence to modern slavery are Mauritania, Haiti and Pakistan. However, India has the largest number of slaves in the world, estimated around 14 million people, followed by China and Pakistan. The bottom of the index is a tie between Iceland, Ireland and the United Kingdom, all ranked at 160. However, none of these countries are completely free of slavery. In the UK, the estimated number of people in slavery is over 4,000 people.

Most countries in the world consider slavery a crime, yet the lack of information about it has made enforcement difficult and criminal convictions few. Despite this, some people are still born into slavery; others are kidnapped or tricked into it. The report aims to provide a tool for governments, citizens and advocacy groups to use in the fight to end slavery."

As best as I could determine, these numbers are accurate. It's appalling.

IT IS ONE THING TO DEFEND OUR COUNTRY FROM ATTACK BUT QUITE ANOTHER TO POLICE THE WORLD.
