I talked to the specialist about my knee today. He reviewed my MRI and the damage is so severe that there is no conservative treatment for my knee. I need a total knee replacement.

Sorry to hear that. But, isn't it amazing that medical technology can do so much now?

I have a feeling you will do well with the replacement. There is so much progress with the surgery and the replacements. My mom had both hers done and at 87 is going strong! Best wishes for either decision you make. Praying for you.

OH DEAR! I hope whatever you decide will be quick, painless and get you back on your feet. I am starting pain management and working backwards. God bless. emoticon

I have been through two total knee replacements. I am here if you need someone to talk to. I will be praying for you. Remember, when the therapy starts do all you can and be very strong. I takes time and you will get through it. I was able to walk again. It changed my life. I wasn't home bound anymore. I was able to exercise and lose weight once I was able to. God bless you!

It's a bummer, but I can tell you this -- my husband had total knee replacement in both knees about 4 years ago, and it was like a new lease on life. He's pain free and able to do more than he had for a long, long time. The recuperation isn't too bad, but you will be out of commission for awhile. So worth it in the end though!
