Diagnosis: hyperthyroidism-yuck

Monday, October 21, 2013

If a day goes well, sometimes it ends lousy. Classes were's appointment no so much,

the bloodwork came back opposite the last bloodwork. All the indications are hyperthyroid. The meds sound a bit dicey...loads of side effects..We are hoping to redo the thyroid scan that in August was perfectly normal.

Keep me in your prayers....the side effects are bad but the feedback hasn't been too great either..

good night... emoticon

Hmmm! Yeah, doesn't hyper mean over-active.... I would think (hope) it meant your thyroid worked so fast, you'd lost weight fast and easy too.....hmm?

How do they diagnose this? Strange that it would be normal last time? I wonder about some of these tests..... they did an ultrasound on my liver and said I had fatty liver, and then the next test said everything was normal???? what do you believe?

I've also been told to contact an endocrinologist, good luck on that one, probably a 5 years wait here, hope it's better there.... all the best....keep us posted...

I have hypothyroidism and don't have any side effects from synthroid. I don't know about the opposite condition. Probably a good idea to have it re-tested. Good luck!
