It's been a very long time...

Monday, October 21, 2013

Just made my 60th birthday a few days ago, and I'm having a little challenge coming to terms with it. I've gotten so far off track I can no longer even see it. My house looks like it has been pillaged, my bicycle has a flat tire, nothing fits anymore, and I'm having a hard time caring about it.
Soooooo, this crap has to stop right now! Tomorrow is a very good day to make my way back to health, both physical and mental. I have to work tomorrow, and I have the next 2 days off after that. Excavation time!
I need to get healthy for many reasons; Master Miles (the latest grandbaby) is toddling 90 to nothing and it's becoming a challenge to keep up with him.
Lighting candles for myself.

Greetings,

Baby-step by baby-step, Jenn. Many of us know the predicament you describe very well...and SparkPeople is a GREAT place to "work it on out"--

Oh, and "a word to the wise" on tracking ("wise" = YOU!) --

And, last thing, a friend just shared this on another blog and it seems like such good advice, I decided to copy-and-paste it for your perusal:

"I have grown to actually enjoy tracking. I learn SO much from it. Just the other day, I had a horrible lunch (as in way overboard in fat and calories). The FIRST THING I did was to track it. Then I went with Coach Nicole's plan of one step backwards (eating a BAD lunch) and two steps forward (planning a low calories, heavy nutrient dinner AND doing a small workout).

"What a difference it all makes when we don't beat ourselves up, but just use the tools available to us to help with awareness!!"

P.S. Sometimes SP stuff REALLY misbehaves...case-in-point: why is the frigging link above DOUBLE-SPACING??? Anyway, it's worth the read...so just get rid any spaces in the link (if there ARE any when you copy it to paste)!

BTW, I L-O-V-E your hitchhiking wallpaper photo --PRICELESS!
