Hour 41: moment of honesty

Monday, October 21, 2013

I'm free from work for today. Tomorrow night I go back for two more nights before being off for two! :) I've worked 91 hours in the last 8 days. My paycheck will be happy for me. (I'm a little loopy, just a little). :)

But something I'm not happy about is the fact that I over ate this week. I'm not sure how much, but I know it was all junk food and fast food and freezer food. No produce in sight unless it was frozen and even then int was only broccoli or okra. :(

I know why I did it and its ok with me. I'm a little sad that I made those choices, but it was delicious and I did try to at least control the calorie impact - at least until a few days ago...not bad in my book.

And not anything that won't be fixed with sleep, quiet time, a return to normal work hours, and some exercise time at the Y (as its now too cold in the mornings to exercise outside - my lungs freeze fast). A few weeks and I should be back to losing. A few days and I might even crave junk food again (right now, I'm over it. Too much junk in such a short time). A few hours of sleep and I'll be motivated to get organized and productive again. If I have time for planning, shopping, and cooking, I may even make an at home meal. :). Potatoes and some sort of meaty meat sounds good. With corn and carrots and peas. Mmmmm. That would be easy to make. And comforting. And more delish than junk. And I've got frozen chicken breasts somewhere in the freezer. That might fit the bill for a "meaty meat". Lol.

Ugh. I better start catching up on my to do list a bit before sleep. I have to admit, I know there's nothing to it, just a simple blood test, but I'm anxious about the results I my TSH level test on October 31. I hope it's gone up enough that I don't have to change to a stronger dose. *fingers crossed*.
Oh! That reminds me...now that I'm back to a normal work schedule, I'll have to start taking the vit D and multivitamins again. I really love my New Chapter Organics multivitamin. I've got the Perfect Calm variety and it tastes overwhelmingly of chamomile, but it never makes me nauseated. Still, when I'm at work most of the day, I don't have time or appropriate place to take three multivitamin tablets without looking like I'm popping pills and making people wonder.

Yikes! I really had a lot to confess this time. Oops! Sorrys! :)

You made a choice, putting your work and earning money more important than your health for a short time. Now use the extra money to put your health first for awhile. Learn from this experience though: moderation is often better. Working extra hours for extra money is good, but it can really take a toll on your health.

Work out a new schedule and start planning how to eat better and sleep more. Once you get back to it you'll be feeling better, I'm sure.

I agree, don't beat yourself up. Anyone who's working that hard can be forgiven the occasional slip up.

Hang in there! You are working extremely hard, go easy on yourself and go one hour at a time!
