I really don't like the gym. I have none, nope, nada, zilch love for the gym. I like walking, riding my bike, or hiking. I love being outside! However, I realize that strength training is an important part of weight loss, so I'm going to the gym.
I belong to a fancy pants gym partly because a family member belongs there, but I also like the variety. In the summer, when the heat in Phoenix is oppressive, the variety of machines and activities will really keep me going.
I am shooting for 2 days a week at the gym and I am working on upper body and core. Sparkpeople workout generator suggested I do the captains chair. That thing is in the "hard core" section of the gym with all the guys. :-) You know that section, free weights and testosterone. BUT, I did it anyway! I was not intimidated! I just did it! Ha!
I also used that crazy moving staircase. I think it is just a stairmaster thing, but it was intense!
YAY!! Gym, I got that!
