I had a really great weekend, but very limited time to Spark. Yesterday I was up at 4:30 to drive the 2 hours to Bethlehem, PA for the Runner's World Half Festival 5K. It was great! Really well run event (one would hope), LOL!
We got to the venue with just enough time to get our numbers and run our bags back to the car before the race started. I was running it with a friend who is fairly new to running, so I wasn't going for time, but was trying to push her a bit. It worked! She got a PR and finished the race strong. After a quick trip back to the car we got to see the 10K runners head out, along with Olympic Gold Medalist Summer Saunders (who we were standing 10 feet from and actually beat in the 5K-she was running the Hat Trick). We checked out the expo for awhile (lots of good snacks and samples), visited with a friend that finished the 5K and 10K and was also doing the Half (all 3 races is the Hat Trick) and just enjoyed the race atmosphere for a bit.
After the race, we headed into downtown Bethlehem to a brewery that I had been to before. One delicious pint later we did a little window shopping and headed home. Got home around 3, took a short nap and got ready for my evening out. For a good friend's birthday, we were doing a painting class (kind of). It's a company called Uncorked Creations (there are others with different names but similar ideas all over)...you bring your own wine and $35 and you get a pre-sketched painting and directions on how to paint it. Everyone ends up with something similar, but slightly different and we had a blast!
Today I had church and then a family potluck at my cousin's new house. Since I was feeling pretty sore I decided to make today a true rest day. It's all good, I'm planning on a longish run tomorrow.
Suffice it to say I did not log all my food the last 2 days, I did not get in all my water and I didn't manage quite the amount of exercise I had hoped for. But, I had fun, I took care of myself and I did manage to get to bed pretty early both nights. Here's to a great week!
Goals for tomorrow:
-64+ oz water
-15K run and skinny jeans challenge day 21
-eat consciously and track food
-set daily goals and Spark
-in bed before 10
