Last night I went out for dinner with a male friend. He and I went on three dates in March, but nothing was there...so we stopped dating but have recently started hanging out as friends. It's great to have a friend. If we liked each other enough to try dating, it makes sense that we could try the friendship out. So far we've gone out twice as just friends and each time have had a great time.
Anyway, at dinner I told him that in regards to my ex, the only thing I am still missing now is having someone with whom to run. He told me about an informal running group at his work place that runs about the same pace as me. He's going to try to get me in touch with them. I was really excited about that.
Also, I texted on and off with my uncle who gave me the advice that if I am not able to find a running club that works here, I can try a different activity. He suggest group cycling. I discovered an outdoor club. They do all different sorts of outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking, paddling, skiing, etc. So I am going to try to go to their group cycling ride this coming Friday. (Which means I need to get a light for my bike.) Also, my uncle gave me the number of a lady he has skied with that doesn't live to far from here. Apparently she's a top finisher in local ski races and does clinics. I loved learning to ski last year on my own, but I think I would feel a lot better after having some lessons.
This morning I found someone from the running club who ran with me. She was super sweet and awesome, and didn't mind going at my pace. She brought her dog, which was great for me since I miss running with my parents' dogs.
After church this morning I went to the Halloween store and some accessories for my costume for my 10k this coming Sunday. :)
Maybe someday things will fall into place for me. We will see.
