My Detox Day Experience

Last week I was having a tough time getting into gear on the nutrition front so I decided to have a detox day with just teas and clear soups.

I started the day with green tea with lemon and two glasses of water.

For lunch I had a clear vegetable soup which was delicious followed by black tea with lemon and a glass of water.

At dinner I had another serving of clear vegetable soup followed by tea with milk and sugar and another glass of water.

I thought this would be extremely difficult but it was actually fairly easy and it got me back on track this week. I thought I would be just starving the next day which wasn't the case. I ended up having a very normal nutrition day the next day.

I think I can repeat this every couple weeks and generally feel better.

Has anyone else tried a detox? What was your experience?

    I did a juice fast over a weekend a while ago and it actually went very well (if you don't count the disgusting cucumber juice that I couldn't drink emoticon )

When I have my "fast" days with my 5:2 pattern, I'm never starving the day after a fast day. I thought I would too, but it's never been the case.

    To answer the snacks question: no snacks in between! Actually, it was a busy day and I didn't really feel the need for a snack. But they do recommend constantly hydrating with water with lemon green tea in between if you want it. I wouldn't do this every day..only once in awhile when you want to give your body a break.

I have thought about doing one because I have heard it is good for the body to do once in a while, but I haven;t done one myself yet.

    Sounds like it would be tough but I am glad you made it through ok. I have been wanting to do a detox but haven't found one I want to try yet.
