A Cloudy Day Hike w/ Pictures

Sunday, October 20, 2013

Last weekend I went for a hike.

There is a trail which connects my hometown of Keene, NH with Brattleboro, VT and passes some pretty spots along the way.

Some people don't like cloudy days, but I find the colors of the woods are richer, more saturated.

This pool was so still that it acted as a mirror for the forest behind it.

The journey's end, Brattleboro, VT, seen from the last ridge in New Hampshire

The Connecticut River separates VT and NH. The crossing consists of a bridge, an island, and another bridge.

The end is in sight

Kayaker playing in a tributary to the main river.

These funny folk are outside the Brattleboro Museum

My favorite detail from the sculpture.

What a beautiful hike! I don't mind cloudy days either. Each type of weather adds it's own special beauty to a hike.

Great photos. I love hiking on cloudy days, the colours are richer, smells are sharper and you don't get a hot and sweaty.

I'm in agreement with you about hiking on cloudy days...the colors, the smells...it's all much more vibrant.
I so need to get out a couple more times before the cold sets in....
