That Darn Cat

Saturday, October 19, 2013

No, not the movie one. Mine. Orzo. He sleeps just about all the time. If possible it is in my lap or on top of me in the bed. Or next to my head. But if I am trying to sleep he decides it is time to get up. Usually around 3 or 4 in the morning. No wonder I get sleepy during the day. Yesterday and today he came in and started getting in my face again. Yesterday I just kept having to move him back down in the bed. He was pretty insistent, though. I finally got up and went in to get his food. He had some. He also had water. But he told me he didn't.

This morning started out the same way and I hadn't gotten to bed until almost 3 am. It was still dark out when he started on me, so it wasn't 7 yet. But he wanted something. I turned to the other side, so he went to that side. So I covered my head with the comforter. Every time I looked out from under he was there in my face. I moved him to the other end of the bed. Then I heard him trying to tear things apart. I am not positive what it was. It sounded like he was trying to tear up the floor. Or maybe it was my shoes. But I think it was the computer. Yikes!

I love this little boy and love the love that he shows. But I do wish he would let me get some sleep.

On a bright side, the gas bubble in my eye seems to have gone away. Tuesday I didn't even see an edge of it. I am hoping it did the work it was meant to, because they said they usually last 3-4 weeks and that was only 2. I am trying to remember to take my NingZia Red drink every day and will add my eye vitamins back to my regimen. Hopefully that will have my eye getting a little better than they expect and maybe help my other eye get some better vision. I am extremely near-sighted and would love to not be quite as near-sighted as I am.

This sounds like MY life with Tallulah, the Two-Ton cat. She actually isn't too heavy, but she FEELS that way at 4 in the morning, which is the perfect hour (in her opinion) to get whisker rubs or play with whatever is moving under the blanket. When I cover my head with the comforter she stands on my head and paws at the blanket. If you figure out any successful strategy that allows you to get undisturbed sleep (short of locking the cat out of the bedroom) let me know!!!

Susanbeamon, Orzo has never snuggled under the covers, but he will walk around on top and on top of me. He has better access to the window in the front bedroom now so gets in there a lot. The other night he jumped on top of me from the window to try to make me get up. And that hurt.

my cat used to wake me up early, so i used to snuggle him under the covers, which he hates. now, he jumps up into the window seat and waits until i get up. plus, he's older too and a little more settled.

It seems like - to a cat - if any of the bottom of the dish is showing, it is considered empty.
