Saturday morning

Saturday, October 19, 2013

Saturday. Having slow coffee and watching my Food Network "boyfriends." About to have pancakes and sausage for breakfast.

Frank is adjusting well to his new situation. Apparently the place has a lot of nurses and most of them aren't guys. We're still waiting for the meeting ex is going to on Wednesday to figure out how things will proceed from here.

I'm doing some serious cooking this weekend. A big pot of meatball-mushroom spaghetti sauce, some carrot and butternut squash soup, a large meatloaf and a pan of my favorite cheesy potatoes. That way I'll have a lot of meals covered for the week. In fact, I may be making the potatoes as a side for the meatloaf, but the reheated leftovers make an awesome breakfast.

Time for more coffee.

May things continue to go well for Frank!

I like the idea of making dishes up ahead of time - sure saves minutes throughout the week. I made a large pot of split pea soup yesterday - froze some in three serving sizes containers & saved back some in the frig for the coming week. I do enjoy meals of soup & salad or soup & sandwich. Split pea is my favorite soup!

Years ago, the mother of one of my students told me how she made five casseroles on the weekend & froze them for evening meals over the coming week. Both her husband & she worked full time.

God bless!

Batch cooking is always good. Takes away the temptation to stop at the drive through

Glad Frank is ajusting well at the new place, and that many of the nurses are female.
So cooking up a storm today, they do sound delicious and lots to eat for the coming week to. Cooking some much today, hopefully means your feeling somewhat better.

I am glad Frank is adjusting to his new living conditions. He has always been a 'Ladies' Man,' so I am also glad there are female nurses there! emoticon

WOW! You are cooking up some really delicious things today. Everything sounds GREAT!

You're in our thoughts! I've been there for the past month. I have no feeling or interest in life except for food and my hubby! I stay in the house. go out only for medical app'ts, exercise in the house with shades down. Tom's heart is iffy. Yesterday, I had to get mammies checked. I am tired of everything. Does this sound familiar to you, my friend?

Love and hugs,
FreeOak

It will be nice for you to have stuff around to make healthy meals without having to do a lot of work when you're tired. Bon apetit!
