Greetings friends of Irene (DIDMIS)

I talked to Irene tonight on the phone and she sounds GREAT!!!

Everything went well and she was very alert and herself.

The machines for the leg movement were on when she woke up - very painful until they readjust the lines.

They had to put the catheter back but the nurse plans to take it out in the morning and have her walk to the bathroom and hopefully if she is strong enough - take a shower!!

She will remain in the hospital a few days and then moved to a RE-hap hospital.

Irene sends her love to all her faithful Spark friends and thanks you for your prayers.

I told her not to worry about responding to everyone but just a general blog and an update on her status.

If you have a special message you would like for me to tell her, you can post it here or e-mail it to my sparkmail (MNNSAIDE) I am planning on going to see her either Saturday evening or Sunday.

Again thank you and if you could please let others on your team know about this update I would appreciate it.

Irene's friend,

(I live about 30 - 45 minutes from her hospital)

Thanks Marcy! You are a good friend! Wishing her a speedy recovery and that all goes well -that is amazing to get a shower so soon! They usually don't allow you to get the stitches wet.. It will give her a lot more freedom with double knee replacements and no more pain once the range of motion is worked back into normal. That is the hardest part really -the physiotherapy required to bend the knee again. Hang in -you can do it! Sending healing, soothing and positive thoughts her way!
