Wk 7 of chemo (all good) and son coming to visit!

Friday, October 18, 2013

It's Friday morning and I'm looking forward to my son and his wife coming to visit today. They are flying in from Chicago to celebrate their second anniversary here in Tennessee. They were married at our house two years ago. I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

I had my #7 (of 12) chemo of Taxol on Wednesday and things continue to go very smoothly. I met with oncologist and she confirmed what I could feel, my tumor is shrinking. My red and white blood cell counts continue to be in the normal range which is nothing short of amazing. I attribute the good test results to all the juicing I've been doing. I also just eat clean whole foods, so everything I eat is very, very healthy. I really happy with both the tumor shrinking and the blood test results.

I did have to tell my doctor that my thoat has been hurting for several weeks. I'm getting a CT scan next week just to see if they can figure out from that what is going on. If that shows nothing, I will probably have to go see and ENT doc. I'm not worried about it, but it would be nice to know what is going on with that.

We are socked in with fog here in middle/east Tennessee this morning. It's about as dense as I've ever seen it. It's quite beautiful watching it start to lift and seeing the fall colors starting to peep out this.

Life is good!

Yippee! For the tumor shrinking and your son's visit- both are such wonderful events. Keep yourself and your recovery on the top of your list. I finished my treatments 8 years ago and have forgotten that message- never too late to start again but so much easier if you don't stop in the first place!

This is great news---your son & DIL visiting, your tumor shrinking, blood cell counts are normal......your dedicated effort to fight the fight are really paying off! You inspire me every time you give us an update, Kay. You are a gift to me!

Have a wonderful visit with your "kids"....and give them the opportunity to "love on you" all they want! Accepting their help & love graciously is a gift you give to them! (you might have to read that sentence a few times to get the meaning & then to believe it's t-r-u-e!!)

Prayers coming for help with the sore throat. Maybe it's just a bug (I have a sore throat, too!). Thoughts with you throughout the day!

Love getting your updates on how the treatments are working. Apparently, the progress is amazing and remarkable! At this rate, by the time you get to the 12th treatment, that tumor should be gone, gone, gone! Please let us know what the doctor says about your throat. Hoping it's nothing to be concerned about. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Enjoy your visit with your son and daughter-in-law. How nice is that to have them come back to your home, where they were married, to celebrate their 2nd anniversary and come give you some much needed love and support. emoticon emoticon emoticon
