I am a vegan but not perfect. I still crave sweets sometimes. I hate this because it goes against everything I believe in.
With a vegan lifestyle, you eat nutrient dense food, not processed, packaged food and white flour and white rice which is bleached, all the nutrients have been taken out. So, I find it hard to eat enough calories in a day because the food I do eat is so fulfilling. It is natural. I don't have cravings for more food.
I think then that my metabolism goes into starvation mode and I gain weight. Yesterday, I only ate 900+ calories and that was a lot for me. I'm trying to do better.
