Motivation Boards

Thursday, October 17, 2013

One of our challenges this week for the Leap Into Fall Challenge was to make a Motivation Board. Mine turned into five, each with a different aspect of what inspiration looks like to me. The theme running through all of them is strength. Ultimately my goal is to be a strong person, a strong woman. I want to be physically strong, emotionally strong and mentally strong.

Motivation Board #1: Fitness & Athleticism
The first board focuses on athleticism. My fitness goal is to have a strong body. I want to be good at working out, be a runner and feel physically strong.

Motivation Board #2: Healthy Eating & Balanced Life
The second board focuses on Healthy Eating and a Balanced Life. Another one of my goals is to fuel my body with excellent nutritional food and to take care of myself in every sense of the word. This includes time to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy life.

Motivation Board #3: Inspirational Fictional Characters
The third board is filled with fictional characters whom I find inspirational. They are strong women (each in their own way) who fight and show courage.

Motivation Board #4: Inspirational Women
The fourth board is for “real life” women whom I find inspirational. These are women who stand up for what they believe is right, who face adversity and overcome it. They have each had an incredible impact on the world in their own way. I also aspire to be strong like these women, fight for what I believe is right, let nothing stand in my way, and make a difference in some way.

Motivation Board #5: Personal
The last board is my personal board. It has pictures of me when I was thin, which I hope to look similar to again. It also has a computer-generated picture of what I will look like in 20 years (based on a picture of me at a healthy weight). That is the person I want to be in 20 years, looking healthy, happy and full of life. I don’t want to be the tired, overweight 20 year older me that I would become without making (and maintaining) healthy changes.

I also have a bunch of pictures of Katy Perry because she is my favourite. I have her girly butterfly picture juxtaposed next to her Roar picture because I feel that represents two sides of my own personality as well. I have one little picture of Nina Dobrev being athletic because I think she’s adorable and I love that picture. She looks healthy and fit.

At the bottom I have a picture of purple hair. I would really really love to be able to dye my hair that colour someday. It would have to be after I find the right job, and that job does not require dealing face to face with clients. In a way it represents finding my dream job, but also getting to the point where I have the confidence to dye my hair the way I really want it and express myself in that way.

I absolutely love your boards! And the purple hair makes me smile because my hair will be purple for Halloween this year as I'm going to be a purple minion :)
