For the past three weeks, I've been using the new Spark Activity Tracker. I've never really been into "gadgets" before. I have a pedometer that I pretty much never use, and I haven't been interested in getting a Fitbit, so I wasn't sure that I'd care too much one way or another about the Spark.
The Spark Activity Tracker arrived in a cute little clear box with easy to understand instructions, a wireless dongle that plugs into a USB port on your computer, and an extra battery. I thought I'd need my husbands help to get started, since he's the "computer whiz" in our house, but set up was so effortless that I was able to do it myself.
The Spark is small, and easily clips onto your shoe laces, bra or the waistband of your pants. I have found that it seems most accurate when clipped to my shoe laces, though.
What I love most about the Spark is that it motivates me to be more active during the day. It synchs with Sparkpeople, and I get trophies on my page, such as the "Glow Getter" trophy for getting 6,000 steps every day! (You can change your step goals to less or more than 6,000 if you want.)
The tracking page is great....you can see your daily progress (and weekly progress) with just a quick glance at the page. I love seeing how many steps I've taken, my distance, my total workout minutes and the amount of calories I've burned.
I would recommend The Spark to anyone who would like to add a little motivation and fun to their workouts. It will give you the incentive to move more throughout your day.
